Snows Heights Outdoor Centre ,was started in 1966 and operates as a registered charity.

 

It is  run solely by volunteers for the benefit of young people of all abilities.

 

The centre is  one mile from Bouth in South Cumbria.

 

Now 43 years on we are now undertaking  a major re-furbishment plan to bring Snows Heights up to the highest standards of environmental excellence.

 

This means replacing the centre completely, with new buildings and facilities to match that highest standard.

 

There will be  vehicle access to the centre  for minibuses with disability provisions and access around the new centre for persons of all abilities.

 

The centre nestles very unobrusively in the centre of 14 acres of natural lakeland woodland and immediate access to the Lake District National Park with all its amenities.

 

We hope to have it open again in 2010 when it will be one of Britain's outstanding centres of excellence for young people.

 

They can then once again, experience the magic of the outdoors and the benefits of the beautiful surroundings in south lakeland.
